SAMBALPUR: Under pressure to act against former chairman of Sambalpur Municipality and Sambalpur Town BJP president Girish Patel over his completing five years as chairman by virtue of a fake caste certificate, the Sambalpur police have registered a case against Patel. The case was registered after District Collector Mrinalini Darswal forwarded a 40-page detail to the Sambalpur SP which was considered as an FIR. It is believed that Patel’s arrest was delayed as it could lead to unpleasant situation ahead of the visit of BJP leader LK Advani. The issue which was dumped in cold storage with the district administration not initiating any action after the finding cropped up again after a senior citizen, Arabinda Sahu, petitioned the district Collector.
