Ted Turner's production company along with Transformers producer Don Murphy will bring the movie to life.
London: Captain Planet is the latest kids' cartoon character to get a big screen makeover. The animated show, which ran between 1990 and 1996, focused on an environment-saving superhero, a character created by media mogul Ted Turner, reported Contactmusic.
The tycoon's production company is teaming up with Transformers producer Don Murphy to bring Captain Planet and the Planeteers to life in a live-action adventure.
"We are extremely excited about bringing the good Captain back to life. His adventures are known worldwide and he is recognised across generations," Murphy said.
