Banda: While Bundelkhand is reeling under severe drought, an executive engineer in the ground water department was found drinking liquor in his office during working hours.
The engineer was allegedly in an inebriated state when he was clearing expense bills. The official is posted in Uttar Pradesh's Banda district.

Bundelkhand – which is divided between Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh – is battling famine due to consecutive droughts and hailstorms which destroyed crops. CNN-IBN has reported on how food is scarce there and lakhs of people are fleeing the region to survive.
