CHENNAI: Dwaraka Doss Govardhan Doss Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, in association with the Lions Club of Anna Nagar Charitable Trust District 324A-1, conducted its 36th annual blood donation camp on February 13 and 14 at the college premises. The camp was inaugurated by R Srilakshmi, Registrar, FAC, the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Guindy. She stressed on the importance of blood donation and said that by donating one unit of blood, a person could save three lives. P Haridas, Secretary of the college, said, he was happy that the college had been organising such camps for a long time now. S Narasimhan, principal of the college, reiterated that college students had been rendering a yeoman service to mankind by donating blood. P Premnath, Chairman, Swami Vivekanda Diagnostic Centre, K V Gopalan, Secretary, Murali Mohan, Co-chairman and Murugan, Treasurer of Lions Club were present on the occasion.The camp was organised by NSS programme officers T S Prema, B Vijayakumar, T Umapathy, P Murugan and NCC officer M Venkataramanan and Santhosh Baboo.
