BJP wins LS polls in Haryana: As the day day progressed
The fate of 230 candidates has been sealed in the EVMs by nearly 72 per cent of the 1.6 crore electorate who had cast their votes.

Chandigarh: 4:00 pm: In Rohtak, Congress's Deepender Singh Hooda has won against BJP's Om Parkash Dhankar by 170627 votes.

3:30 pm: Results have been declared for the Kurukshetra constituency in Haryana where BJP's Raj Kumar Saini has defeated Balbir Singh Saini of the Indian National Lok Dal by 129736 votes.

11:44 am: BJP's Rattan Lal Kataria has won the Ambala Lok Sabha seat in Haryana against the Congress's Raj Kumar Balmiki by close to 2 lakh votes.

11:40 am: Congress's Deepender Singh Hooda is leading against BJP's Om Parkash Dhankar by over 1,00,000 votes.

9:35 am: In the trends in 10 out of 10 constituencies, BJP is leading in 7 seats, Congress in 2, and Indian National Lok Dal in 1 seat.

9:20 am: Out of 7 out of 10 constituencies, BJP is leading in 3 seats, Congress in 3, and Indian National Lok Dal in 1 seat.

Counting of votes is underway across 90 centres in Haryana set up across 32 locations in the state. Elections to the 10 Parliamentary seats in Haryana were held on April 10. The fate of 230 candidates has been sealed in the EVMs by nearly 72 per cent of the 1.6 crore electorate who had cast their votes.

Among the prominent contenders whose fate would be known are Congress' Deepinder Hooda, Naveen Jindal, state party chief Ashok Tanwar, Shruti Choudhry, Arvind Sharma and Avtar Singh Bhadana, all seeking re-election from their respective constituencies of Rohtak, Kurukshetra, Sirsa (SC), Bhiwani-Mahendergarh, Karnal and Faridabad.

From Hisar, the fate of Haryana Janhit Congress chief Kuldeep Bishnoi, who is seeking re-election from here, will be also be known tomorrow. From Gurgaon seat, the fate of former Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, who quit Congress to join BJP, and is locked in contest against Aam Aadmi Party's Yogendra Yadav, will also become clear.

While the BSP and the Left parties have been fielding their candidates in previous Parliamentary elections from Haryana, Aam Aadmi Party, contesting its first Lok Sabha polls, has fielded its candidates on all the ten seats from the state. Meanwhile, from the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat, the fate of former Railway Minister and four-time Congress MP Pawan Kumar Bansal will also be known.
