CHENNAI: India needs more students to become entrepreneurs and so earning a degree and getting placed will not suffice, advised Governor K Rosaiah to the graduating students of Velammal Engineering College on Saturday.Delivering the graduation day address, he said research and innovation are the keys to development. “Students need to be creative and innovative. Master your field of interest and become job creators and not job seekers,” he said.He congratulated the college for winning the All Indian Entrepreneurship Week Championship Award 2012, awarded by the National Entrepreneurship Network. He also commended the college for getting placements for 92 per cent of the graduating batch, with 30 per cent grabbing dual offers.State Minister for Higher Education P Palaniappan and M V M Velmurugan, CEO - Velammal Educational Trust were also present.
