Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Vinod Nowal President, BCIC, said it was government's decision to colloboarte BCIC for the mmet. "We will work with the government in making the event successful and bring in more investors to the event," he said.According to Nowal, who is also the Director and CEO of Jindal Steel Works , Karnataka has plenty of opportunities to grow and attract more investments in the wake of conducive atmosphere it has. "BCIC will discuss the matter with the government and offer a package of incentives for investors setting up industries in other parts of the state," he added.

Nowal said that they wanted state government to identify the barren land which is unfit for agriculture purpose. "If they (government) chose fertile land, it will irk the farmers," he said. There is a need for mechanism for hasslefree land acquisition for industries, he felt.

"If we do not encourage steel plants in India, we will have to depend on other countries," he added.
