Hyderabad: All India Bank Employees Association All India Bank Officers Association has decided to hold demonstration in all state capitals on December 14 demanding adequate supply of cash to all banks and ATMs by RBI to enable proper functioning.
The association said that bank employees and officials are working under lot of mental tension and are facing the wrath of common man. Unsatisfied and annoyed customers are hurling abuses on the staff and in many instances becoming violent after not being able to withdraw cash.
Contrary to RBI's statement, the association says there is acute crisis of cash in banks, especially of Rs100 and Rs500 denominations which are in demand. Also pressure on bank branches has increased as 70% of ATMs which are still not recalibrated remain closed.
The associations are also demanding proper compensation to employees and officers for sitting late in branches to complete additional work after demonetisation.
Apart from demonstrations state units will also meet regional directors of RBI and hand over copy of letter with their demands addressed to RBI's governor.
