TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that the Congress leadership is keen on destroying the TDP and towards this end it was using the TRS and Telangana issue and the YSR Congress besides raking up the IMG land allotment.
Recently YSRC president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s close associate Vijaya Sai Reddy, veteran journalist ABK Prasad and TRS sympathiser Sri Rangarao filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court on the IMG land allotments, which was admitted and will come up for hearing on Wednesday. The state government and the CBI had separately given their consent to conduct an inquiry into the allotment.
Nearly 800 acres near Hyderabad was allotted to IMG Bharata Academies for sports promotion in 2004 when Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister. Later, during the late YSR’s regime, a CBI probe into the land allotment was sought but the ACB court and the High Court denied the plea.
With the issue coming up in the court again, the TDP chief had a meeting with senior leaders on how to deal with the situation. It was reportedly decided that after the High Court gives its decision, an action plan should be prepared to continue the fight legally.
Naidu told the party functionaries that the Congress wants to finish off other political parties in the country by either attracting or attacking them.
The TRS was given a chance to merge with the Congress while the YSR Congress was provided an opportunity to decide their future course of action. With the help of these two parties, the Congress was trying to damage the TDP in the Telangana region, Naidu said.Naidu said he will hold discussions with T leaders.
