Art Director and Padmashri awardee Thotta Tharani has been nominated for the Dr M A Chidambaram Chettiar Award for excellence in fine arts instituted by MAC Charities.
V C Sasivalli, eminent scholar, has bagged the Dr Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar Award for outstanding contribution to Tamil language and literature. Also, Y J Shabbir, Managing Director of the Chennai-based Polyhose Group of Companies, is the winner of the Dr A C Muthiah Award for excellence in first-generation entrepreneurship.
Each will receive `1 lakh and a citation at a function on October 12, coinciding with the 94th birth anniversary of Dr M A Chidambaram, at Annamalai Mandram.
