Ahead of the high stakes Indian Premiere League (IPL) match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the former’s home turf — Bengaluru — on Sunday, the city traffic policy has issued an advisory for commuters.
The match is set to take place at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is situated on MG Road, near Cubbon Park. The advisory includes roads that are to be avoided and parking restrictions. The city traffic police has also informed commuters of available parking spaces.
“In view of IPL cricket match in Chinnaswamy stadium, Bengaluru City Traffic arrangements have been made to ensure smooth flow of traffic on May 12, 2024 from 3 pm to 11 pm,” the advisory read.

PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Commuters will not be allowed to park their vehicles on the following roads:
- Queens Road, MG Road, MG Road to Cubbon Road, Rajbhavan Road
- Central street Road, Cubbon Road, St Marks Road, Museum Road
- Kasturiba Road, Ambedkar Veedi Road, Trinity Jn, Lavelle Road
- Vittal Malya Road, Kings Road and Nrupathunga road

- St Joseph Indian School Ground, UB City Parking lot
- BMTC TTMC Shivajinagara 1st Floor and OLD KGID Building
- Kings Road, (Inside Cubbon Park)
The Bengaluru traffic police requested the public to cooperate with the advisory. The IPL match between RCB and DC will begin at 7:30 pm on May 12.
