HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Council are likely to meet either on June 4 or 6 to elect Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, chairman and deputy chairman of the Council.A notification to convene both the Houses is likely to be issued soon. After N Kiran Kumar Reddy became the chief minister, the post of speaker of the Assembly fell vacant. Deputy speaker Nadendla Manohar has been holding the fort till now. The chief minister, who returned from Delhi recently after getting clear instructions from the party high command to fill the posts that have been lying vacant, apparently is getting his act together.According to sources, Nadendla Manohar might get promotion as speaker and N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Congress legislator from Huzurnagar in Nalgonda might become deputy speaker.As regards the Council, the same team might be continued - A Chakrapani as chairman and Md Jani as deputy chairman, sources said.
