Lakhimpur: Post mortem report into the death of a woman who was brutally killed in upper Assam's Lakhimpur district has revealed that she died due to trauma after being hit on the head by a blunt object. The report has ruled out sexual assault.
Initial reports into the investigations said that the 31-year-old woman was gangraped by four men inside a tempo and her eyes were gouged out before being thrown out of the vehicle.
The woman boarded a shared tempo to pick up her six-year-old daughter from school at Boginadi area, about 14 km from the district headquarters town Lakhimpur, police sources said.
