Asin's new TVC is inspired from Rajnikanth's film
Directed by Gautham Menon, the new Mirinda ad is inspired from 'Moondru Mudichu', which featured Kamal and Rajinikanth.

Asin, who has been the brand ambassador for Mirinda for the past seven years has just released a new ad film for the brand. The ad, which introduces two new flavours of the drink has been directed by Gautham Menon and is based on K Balachander's film 'Moondru Mudichu' which featured Sridevi, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth.

"It was fun working with Gautham again and that too in an ad format with a fun, interesting concept" said Asin. From the ad-film, it appears that the three characters in the film represent the three different flavours that are currently being offered by the brand and directly equate to the roles played by Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth and Sridevi in the original film.

For those who remember, the ad shows the initial boat scene from 'Moondru Mudichu', which showcased all three actors. In order to make the ad more promising, the team had worked hard to acquire the rights from the original producers and in a way comes up with a tribute to a film. Advertising and history brought together, quite interesting indeed.
