Mumbai Collector and District Magistrate Sanjay Yadav confirms that the administration is working hard to increase the number of first-time voters to 25,000 by the day of the election

The Election Commission of India has extended the deadline for eligible voters in Mumbai to register themselves till April 23. New voters or people who want to correct errors can submit their application to the Commission within the deadline.

The Maharashtra government to increase the number of voters has started a college drive for young adults aged 18-19. Mumbai Collector and District Magistrate Sanjay Yadav confirmed that the administration is working hard to increase the number of first-time voters to 25,000 by the day of the election.

Here is the list of changes that are permitted to be made in electoral rolls:

  • Adding new names
  • Change in constituencies
  • Errors in name and address

In case the name of the voter is written in another regional language other than the local language, they should connect to the Election Commission’s helpline number. Every constituency has an Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), who is responsible for handling any necessary corrections to the rolls.
