New Delhi: Air India pilots on Friday withdrew their threat to go on strike over non-payment of flying allowance after the dues were paid. The pilot had on Friday morning written to the Air India management about their threat to strike work and not fly the planes till their flying allowance was cleared.
Within hours of the threat, the Air India management deposited the flying allowance into the pilots' accounts.
The pilots and the management on January 15, 2016 signed an agreement on the issue of pay parity.
The pilots said the revised salary came into effect from January 1, 2016 but they are yet to get our flying allowance. They claimed that they were promised payment by April 10, which was pushed to May 2, then May 3 and finally May 5.
They had also written a letter to the Director-Finance of Air India.
