THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Asian School of Business (ASB) has secured approval of the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for its two-year, full-time Postgraduate Programme in Management (PGPM).“The ASB is creating a new class of leaders for the coming Asian century and the approval by AICTE reflects its mission and vision,” said Professor S Rajeev, the Director-designate, who is an alumnus of the Stanford Business School.“The approval comes as the right recognition for our efforts to groom future leaders with hands-on experience in the field of business”.“ASB has many unique features in its curriculum. It would help us emerge as a leading centre of excellence in the country,” said member of the ASB Governing Board G Vijayaraghavan, the founder CEO of Technopark here. ASB has one of the first academic campuses in the country which conforms to Smart Building Protocols and is eligible for the LEED Green Campus Certification.ASB is in the process of establishing professional alliances with international academic institutions.It has already tied up with USA-based Kansas University School of Business (KUSB) which initiated an India Study Abroad Programme.Another collaboration in the offing is the Polish government-run Instytut Organizacji Zarzadzania W Przemysle (ORGMASZ) of Warsaw to help create modern management structures in the Polish economy through mutual exchange of knowledge and skills.The admission to AICTE-approved batch, 2011-12, with 120 students, would begin on Dec 14.
