Adulterated food items seized at Ayanavaram

CHENNAI: The Health Department of the Chennai Corporation seized adulterated food items, including dhaniya whole and cheese products, from Ayanavaram and Kilpauk zones on Tuesday. According to a release, officials of the Health Department have been conducting regular checks as per the directions of Corporation Commissioner D Karthikeyan, for adulterated food items across the city. During one such raid at Ayanavaram, the officials recovered dhaniya products from a shop, which was found to be adulterated. In a raid at Taylor’s Road in Kilpauk zone adulterated cheese products were seized. The Health Department has asked the public to be more vigilant while buying groceries and inform officials if they feel they are adulterated.
