Additional Police personnel to be deployed

SABARIMALA: Sabarimala chief coordinator of police ADGP P Chandrasekharan said on Wednesday that an additional number of 1,000 police personnel, including officers, would be deployed for crowd management and to ensure safety of the pilgrims during the peak days of Makaravilakku .  Talking to newsmen at Sannidhanam Devaswom guest house, ADGP Chandrasekharan said that the aggregate number of police during the peak days of Makaravilakku  would go up to 3,000 from the present strength of 2,000.Adequate number of police personnel would be deployed at Pulmedu, Uppupara, Panchalimedu, Parunthumpara, Angamoozhy and Attathode during the Makaravilakku days, he said.
