THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vismayanauka, a 3D mini theatre and pavilion at Santhigiri Fest 2012, was inaugurated on Tuesday by Health Minister V S Sivakumar. The pavilion, built in the shape of a life-sized boat with deck and sails, is expected to be one of biggest crowd-pullers at the 50-day international exhibition, organised by the Santhigiri Ashram.Speaking after inaugurating the pavilion, Sivakumar said that the accomplishments of Santhigiri Ashram, even as it cut across the diverse frontiers of society, were grounded on the great spiritual teachings of Navajyothisree Karunakara Guru.‘Vismayanauka’ is an initiative by Santhimahima, the youth wing of the Santhigiri Arts and Cultural Department. The 3D theatre showcases documentaries of socially-relevant themes.KPCC executive member C Mohanachandran presided over the function. Santhigiri Ashram organising secretary Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi welcomed the gathering. DCC treasurer M A Latheef, Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Councillor P Asok Kumar and Kerala Congress (Jacob) district president Karumam Sundaresan also spoke.The pavilion will have a demonstration of 3D technology, sale and exhibition of 3D gadgets, 3D books, and 3D cameras. The air-conditioned large screen 3D mini theatre will screen breath-taking video clippings of nature shot in 3D and some of the most enthralling visuals from 3D movies form around the world. Visitors can also walk up to the decks of the ship for a stunning view of the adjacent artificial lake and a lighthouse, which combine to create an illusion of being on board a real ship.Health Fair inaugurated Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash inaugurated Health Fair and the healthcare pavilion by Santhigiri Healthcare and Research Organisation. He said that Santhigiri Ashram disseminated the message of spirituality as well as preserving and propagating the traditional systems of medicine such as Ayurveda and Siddha.The meeting was presided by SHRO head Swami Jyothiroopa Jnana Thapaswi. Pothencode Panchayat standing committee chairman Balamurali and Santhigiri Medical Services Division deputy medical superintendent Dr B Rajkumar also spoke.The 50-day-long Santhigiri Fest, in connection with Nava Oli Jyothir Dinam, which falls on May 6, from April 12 to May 31, is being organised on the premises of the Ashram.At the Health Fair pavilion, there will be medicare kiosks, stalls representing every system of medicine, seminars and awareness classes on a variety of medical issues, special camps for uncommon ailments, health-related quiz and counselling centres.
