SAMBALPUR: Seven persons including three women and a child died and six others sustained critical injuries after a truck rammed into the multi-utility vehicle (MUV) in which they were travelling on Sunday.They were returning back to their house at Bandhbahal in Jharsuguda from Harishankar at Bolangir when the accident occurred at Bhalubahal on State Highway 10 under Sason police limits.The impact of the collision left six dead on the spot while a woman succumbed to her injuries on the way to VSS Medical. Two among the deceased have been identified as Nilakantha Naik (47) and Benga Naik (55).The injured have been admitted to VSS Medical at Burla. They are Rohit Naik, Krushna Naik, Jyotsna Naik, Asharani Baccha, Santosh Pattnaik and the driver of the MUV whose identity is yet to be established.Sources said Nilakantha had taken his family members to the Shiva temple at Harishankar. On their way back, one of the front tyres of the truck burst following which, the driver lost control over the vehicle and it dashed into the MUV.
