VELLORE: As many as 400 detonators and 350 kg of ammonium nitrate were seized from a father-son duo, who were arrested on Thursday. Based on a tip-off that the explosives were hidden in the Chinnapalam area, Vellore taluk police conducted a search in the locality.Jagannathan (50), who owns a stone quarry in the area and his son Devaram (24) were found hiding the unlicensed explosives behind their house. 400 detonators and 350 kg of Ammonium Nitrate were seized from them. They are being interrogated.Decomposed Body Found in Farm WellThe decomposed body of a 35-year-old man was found in a farm well at Netteri village near Gudiyattam on Friday. Based on a complaint by the village administrative officer Sabari, Gudiyattam police retrieved the body and sent it for post mortem. Efforts are on to identity the body.2 Women End Life Over Dowry HarassmentTwo women committed suicide in separate incidents on Thursday. Both the deaths are reported to be dowry related. While Mariya (22), reportedly set fire to herself, Sandhya (20), died after an overdose of tablets. Cases have been registered with regard to both the deaths.
