35-year-old man beaten to death with hammer

A 35-year-old man died after he was allegedly hit with a hammer by some unidentified persons in Bashiya village in Mahuli area in Sant Kabir Nagar, police said on Monday.

Sumitranandan was attacked while he was sleeping in his house, they said, adding that he died on the spot. Sumitranandan was alone at his house at the time of the incident. The reason behind the attack is not yet known and the police is probing the matter.
