CHENNAI: First-year medical students who had just begun to rest easy this week after the Madras High Court and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had directed the TN Dr MGR Medical University to rollback the new examination norms, are in a state of shock after the revised results were put out on the varsity website on Sunday. A disgruntled medical student informed that many of the students (2010-2011 batch), who had failed in the August semester exam had not cleared it despite 50 per cent mandatory in all subjects stipulation being lifted. He alleged that the varsity has not completely adhered to the MCI norms, yet. An official source indicated that only about 70 per cent of the 3,184 students have passed after the rollback. While official confirmation on the results is pending, students have indicated that if this is indeed the case, then stir will continue.
