Amid political blame game, ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) had asserted that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the Kolkata flyover tragedy.

Three top officials of construction company IVRCL have been arrested by Kolkata Police in connection with the flyover collapse

Senior AGM Mallikarjun, structural manager Pradeep Saha and assistant manager Divyajyoti Mazumdar were arrested a day after the flyover collapse which killed at least 24 people and injured more than 80 others.

Initially a FIR under culpable homicide not amounting to murder (section 304) was filed against the builder , which was later changed to a case of murder (section 302)

Terming the mishap as "unfortunate", infrastructure major IVRCL had on Thursday said it will cooperate with the state authorities probing the collapse of an under-construction flyover in Kolkata.

"IVRCL grieves the loss of precious lives and injuries to people and will cooperate with the authorities in investigating this accident," IVRCL said.

Amid political blame game, ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) had asserted that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the Kolkata flyover tragedy. "The builders have been completely irresponsible. They have blood on their hands, they'll face consequences." said TMC spokesperson Derek O'Brien.

Army and other agencies engaged in rescue operations they were not hopeful of finding any more survivors from under the debris.
