Kajal Aggarwal, a highly sought-after actress in the Hindi and Telugu film industry, recently made a comeback with her stellar performance in the film Bhagavanth Kesari after a short sabbatical following the birth of her son, Neil. However, Kajal’s illustrious career also includes instances where she turned down film offers for various reasons.
Here’s a glimpse into the films rejected by Kajal:
Alivelu Venkataramana (not released):
Kajal reportedly declined to act in the film Alivelu Venkataramana directed by Teja, where she was to be cast opposite Gopichand. Several other actresses also rejected the offer. Gopichand contemplated leaving the project after a prolonged wait for the female lead. The film faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing lockdowns and as of now, it hasn’t materialized.
Untitled film opposite Venkatesh Daggubati (not released):
Director Teja approached Kajal for an untitled film opposite Venkatesh Daggubati. While Kajal initially agreed to the project, she later backed out due to undisclosed reasons. Teja, proud of Kajal’s growth as an actor, had previously collaborated with her in the successful film Nene Raju Nene Mantri.
Amar Akbar Anthony (November 16, 2018):
Kajal opted not to act in Amar Akbar Anthony due to her busy schedule with other projects. The film, featuring Ileana D Cruz, Vikramjeet Virk, Abhimanyu Singh, and others, did not fare well at the box office.
Wild Dog (April 2, 2021):
Initially offered to Kajal, Wild Dog, starring Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dia Mirza, Saiyami Kher, and Atul Kulkarni, was directed by Ahishor Solomon. Kajal, occupied with her wedding preparations at the time, did not take up the role.
Kajal Aggarwal’s ability to choose roles selectively reflects her commitment to projects and the high standards she maintains in her career. Despite rejecting these films, her recent comeback reaffirms her position as a prominent actress in the industry.
