This wikiHow will show you how you can switch Instagram to a darker appearance on your iPhone or iPad so you don't strain your eyes too much. Although there's no specific dark mode setting in the Instagram app, you can turn on the device-wide Dark Mode (available in iOS 13) setting to change Instagram's background to black.
Open Settings iPhone Settings App Icon. You can find this grey gear icon on the Home screen. To enable dark mode, you have to update to the latest version of the Instagram app and be running at least iOS 13.
Tap Display and Brightness. This button has differently sized "AA" icon next to it that you can find in the third grouping.
Tap to choose Dark. This will change all the bright colors for darker colors in available apps, including Instagram.
