London: Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur said that they have agreed to sell midfielder Luka Mordic to Real Madrid. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said on Monday that "Luka has been a terrific player for us."

The Croatia international made 160 appearances for the north London club, scoring 17 goals. Modric has signed a five-year deal with the Spanish league champions though the move is subject to a medical examination.

Financial details of the transfer were not released. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez stated: "The strong relationship and affinity between our two clubs has resulted in the cementing of a longer-term partnership and the successful transfer of Luka Modric.

The club added that they wish him well for the future, after he made 160 appearances for Spurs in four seasons, scoring 17 goals.
