Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has ended speculation about his immediate future by signing a new four-year contract with the English Premier League champions.
"Leicester City Football Club is delighted to announce that Riyad Mahrez has signed a new contract, committing his future to the Foxes until June, 2020," said a statement issued by the Midlands club on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old Algeria winger was a key figure in Leicester's shock run to the 2015/16 title, which saw the Foxes defy odds of 5,000/1, scoring 17 goals and being responsible for a further 11 assists.
His form last season saw Mahrez named Player of the Year by England's Professional Footballers' Association.
It was the latest chapter in a remarkable success story for Mahrez, who joined Leicester from French second division side Le Havre in January 2014.
Mahrez, in common with several of his Leicester team-mates, has been the subject of transfer speculation.
However, he has now joined the likes of club captain Wes Morgan, Jamie Vardy, Kasper Schmeichel and Andy King in signing a deal that will keep him at the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes host their first home game of the 2016/17 season this Saturday when Arsenal are the visitors.
Leicester began their title defence with a shock 2-1 loss away to Hull City last weekend.
