Manchester: The Catalan daily Sport is claiming that Thiago Alcantara has made up his mind and will leave for the Premier League next year. Manchester United are thought to be one of the teams ready to snap him up.
The 22-year-old midfielder is currently away on international duty with Spain at the U21 European Championships but rumours of a move away from Catalan have been rife ever since his €18 million release clause was activated due to a lack of first team action.
With Xavi, Andres Iniesta, and Cesc Fabregas already on the team, there isn't too much space for Thiago. Barcelona have promised him more playing time next year, but if the reports are true, he is not convinced.
Thiago's U-21 team-mate and Manchester United goalie De Gea has already nudged Thiago in the direction of Old Trafford and if it is game time he is after, he is guaranteed of that under David Moyes given how weak United's midfield is with Scholes' retirement, Fletcher's illness combined with Cleverley and Anderson's inconsistent form.
