England: Hatem Ben Arfa ended Newcastle's wait for a Premier League goal after 411 minutes to clinch a 1-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday.

The France winger cut in from the right and weaved through the defense before shooting past goalkeeper David Stockdale in the 86th minute.

Not only did he claim Newcastle's first league win of the season, but scored his team's first goal since the penultimate game of last season.

The northeast club have four points from their opening three matches, while Fulham have three.

In the other match, Nathan Redmond scored in the second half to give Norwich a 1-0 win over Southampton for the team's first victory of the season.

In a frenetic, end-to-end clash at a sold-out Carrow Road, both teams had what seemed like a clear penalty denied and the hosts' 19-year-old winger proved the difference as he capped a fine performance with the winner.

Redmond's pace often had Southampton on the back foot and he scored the decisive goal in the 68th minute by cutting in from the left to unleash a fierce drive from the edge of the box.

Southampton could have been ahead in the first half when Bradley Johnson clearly handled an Adam Lallana strike in front of Howard Webb, but the referee waved away those claims. Webb then also waved off Norwich's appeals in stoppage time when Robert Snodgrass was brought down in the area by Jose Fonte.
