According to a report in Sky Sports, former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has criticised Liverpool for their handling of his loan move to Napoli.
In an open letter on his website, the Spanish international claimed that he wasn't informed of the season-long loan to the Serie A side until after the deal was completed.
"If I have one regret, it is the way that I am leaving," said the 30-year-old. "It is only natural that I would be disappointed that the Liverpool management agreed to loan me to Napoli without telling me first.
"I thought that I deserved better than that even though I understand that difficult decisions have to be taken in football.
Earlier, Reina had said that he was happy to be working with Rafael Benitez again. "I'm happy to link up again with coach Benitez, who I knew for five years between Spain and England, and with who I have always worked very well," Reina said as he left the clinic following his medical.
Benitez joined Napoli at the end of May, succeeding Walter Mazzarri, who resigned and signed to coach Inter. Reina was linked with a move to Barcelona last season and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers explained that speculation led to him swooping for Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
