Collymore warns Benteke of no-nonsense Paul Lambert
Collymore has warned the Belgian striker that he could end up sitting on the bench which would further hamper his chances for the 2014 World Cup, if he crosses his boss Lambert.

Retired English footballer Stan Collymore has warned Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke about the repercussions he might have to face if he upsets manager Paul Lambert.

According to The Dailystar, Collymore has warned the Belgian striker that he could end up sitting on the bench which would further hamper his chances for the 2014 World Cup, if he crosses his boss Lambert.

Benteke has been on the radars of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for quite some time now and is being estimated at £25million. However, Collymore insists that Villa are under no pressure to sell the striker.

Collymore said, "There is a World Cup coming up next summer and Lambert has a track record that shows, if you cross him, he will leave you on the bench.

"Villa's financial outlay on Benteke isn't enough to stop Lambert saying, 'If you start messing us around we will be quite happy to leave you out'." he added.
