Can they do it? Will they do it? English Premier League fans all over the world just can't stop talking about the phenomenal success Leicester City are enjoying in the current season.

No one in their wildest of dreams imagined that the Foxes will be top of the league after 24 matches. They lead the standings three points ahead of Manchester City and have five-points lead over Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

The highest goal-scorer of the season so far, Jamie Vardy, once again inspired Leicester to an impressive 2-0 victory against Liverpool on Tuesday and next on the roster for Claudio Ranieri's men are Manchester City and Arsenal.

With 14 matches yet to be played, people are just curious to know whether the side that almost got relegated last season write one of the most romantic tale in the history of the English Premier League. They have already become the second team for the people this time around and the most talked about.

"A lot of people stop me on the street and say 'I am a fan of another team; but if Leicester win the title, I am very happy'," said Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri after their win over the Reds.

In the last 20 years, only Blackburn Rovers have managed to take the Premier League title away from either Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester City. In the EPL, it gets harder every year to lift the trophy.

The biggest example for this is Manchester United. Three years back they were winning the title for fun and now they are 10 points behind the league leaders. They are the perfect example of how difficult this league is getting year after year. It has been 11 years since Arsenal last won the league title. They have been in the shadows of United, Chelsea and City for over a decade now.

For a few weeks Arsenal were top of the league and it looked like they might seal it this time around but now they are five points behind Leicester and fourth overall. So this clearly indicates how difficult it is to win the league.

Leicester's success this season has been based on Ranieri's tactics. The counter-attacking football they play is one of the finest in the league and can embarrass even the wealthiest clubs of Manchester and London.

Even history is on their side at the moment. For the last eleven Premier League seasons - the team that has topped the table in the beginning of February has gone on to lift the prestigious trophy. Chelsea did it in 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2015; the Red Devils did that in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2013; and the side from the Blue side of Manchester kept the pattern going with title wins in 2012 and 2014.

Can Leicester hold their nerve and pull off the unthinkable? In this age of 'super clubs' run on oil and real estate money, it would certainly be a joy to see the underdog win.

What's your reaction?
