New Delhi: AC Milan midfielder David Beckham will not be included in the Rossoneri's UEFA Cup squad for the remainder of the season, prompting speculation he will indeed return to the LA Galaxy by March 9.
LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena had become fed up with rumours that David Beckham would be staying at AC Milan and declared that the Rossoneri and ‘Becks’ will honour the agreement that should see the player return to the United States on March 9.
An indication that may well be the case is that Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti will not include the ex-Real Madrid player in his UEFA cup squad for the remainder of the season, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.
If Beckham's stay is only until early March, he would only be able to play in two matches for the team in Europe; the first and second leg against German side Werder Bremen.
Beckham has settled in well in Italy, making a positive impact in his first four games in Serie A, scoring two goals. Many of his Milan team-mates have announced that they hope the No. 32 will remain past his scheduled return date.
Meanwhile the LA Galaxy have always maintained Beckham will be returning on time. The official deal with the Rossoneri is a six-month loan, meaning Beckham would stay until June. However, the club's supposedly have a ‘gentleman's agreement’ that he will be allowed to go back to Los Angeles for the start of the MLS season.
