Barcelona: Barcelona have successfully concluded contract talks with new head coach Tito Vilanova. The Catalans have announced on their official website that the 42-year-old trainer will sign a two-year deal on Friday.
The Blaugranas were in the market for a new coach due to the departure of Pep Guardiola, who opted not to renew his contract earlier this year.
Barcelona revealed on the day that Guardiola announced his imminent departure that Vilanova would replace the former Spain international at the helm, and they have now reached an agreement with the former assistant coach.
Vilanova joined Barcelona as assistant to Guardiola at the club's B team in 2007, and was promoted alongside Pep the following year.
He steered Barcelona to 14 titles during his four years on the bench as assistant to Guardiola.
