Milan: AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has dismissed speculation linking former Barcelona's coach Pep Guardiola with the manager's job at the San Siro. The Spaniard left Barcelona during the summer following a highly-successful four years at the Camp Nou.

Guardiola is currently on a self enforced sabbatical to 're-charge his batteries' but is expected to return to the game sooner rather than later.

It was reported on Wednesday that the Italians were planning on talks with the 41-year-old in New York, but Galliani has insisted that these claims are false. "I don't have any plans to travel to New York to meet Pep Guardiola," he told Tuttosport. "I am going to New York soon, but only to see my daughter."

The Italian press also claim that Bayern Munich are interested in recruiting one of the most successful managers in world football. Despite rumours, Guardiola is thought to be keen on managing in the Premier League. He has been previously linked to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.
