Great success stories, in most cases, have humble origins. Success is best enjoyed when the journey has been anything but smooth. A woman student from Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh has managed to top not just her college, but her university, without any coaching or tutoring, making her an inspirational icon across her village. Ayushi Kumari Singh, a resident of Rustampur village in the Bansdih Road area of Ballia district, began her education in her hometown. She studied in the village from first to fifth grade, and then completed her intermediate education under the CBSE board in Ballia. After that, Ayushi pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the prestigious Shri Murli Manohar Town Post Graduate College in Ballia. She recently completed her Master of Science (MSc) in Zoology, finishing her studies this year.
Ayushi excelled academically, topping the entire university and receiving the prestigious Chancellor’s Award. She was honoured with this award by Governor Anandiben Patel, marking a significant achievement in her academic journey.
Ayushi Kumari Singh believes that the key to her academic success lies in self-study and personal dedication. Unlike many students who opt for coaching classes or private tuitions, Ayushi chose to rely solely on her own efforts. She carefully balanced her time between household responsibilities and her studies, demonstrating remarkable self-discipline. Even though she didn’t have a fixed study timetable, she set daily goals for herself, ensuring that she completed specific tasks each day.
Her approach was not centred around spending hours in a structured environment, but rather on maintaining a consistent focus on what she needed to achieve. Attending classes regularly allowed her to stay up to date with the course material and gain clarity on complex topics. A significant part of her academic journey also involved the support she received from her teachers. Ayushi emphasises that her teachers played a vital role in guiding her.
