DDU Gorakhpur And American Chemical Society Collaborate For Faculty Leadership Summit
In these sessions, participants will be informed about important topics such as scientific leadership, effective communication, best practices in research, manuscript writing, ethics, literature and grant writing.

To take DDUG’s (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur) research and innovation to new heights, the Faculty Leadership Summit is being organised in the Department of Biotechnology in collaboration with the American Chemical Society (ACS). This program will be organised on September 5 and 6 under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon.

The main objective of this summit is to prepare young faculty members to become influential scientific leaders and thereby develop a sustainable ecosystem in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in India.

During the summit, various sessions will be conducted by subject matter experts and experienced ACS staff. In these sessions, participants will be informed about important topics such as scientific leadership, effective communication, best practices in research, manuscript writing, ethics, literature and grant writing.

Besides, the topics of research funding, mentoring, community building and networking will also be covered. 51 faculty members will participate in the summit, out of which 12 are from Nepal. The participants were selected based on their H-index, and publications in Scopus and Web of Science.

The summit provides a platform for faculty members from Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Physics, Home Science, Electronics, Engineering and various other subjects. Faculty from Lumbini Buddhist University, Tribhuvan University and Madhesh Agricultural University of Nepal will also participate.

This international participation will not only lead to knowledge sharing but will also strengthen global research collaboration. Vice Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon said that this summit is an important step towards enhancing the research profile of the university. She is confident that this will make our faculty members globally competitive and increase the university’s research work.

Gorakhpur University is a teaching and residential university with an affiliation. It has entered the league of the top five government universities in the country by achieving the NAAC rank of A++. It is the first university in the country to achieve a score of 3.78.
