BSEB STET 2024: Exam Pattern, Passing Marks
The STET Bihar board exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for recruiting secondary school teachers, and Paper 2 is for senior secondary teachers. In the 2023 exam, the BSEB STET question paper had 150 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark. There were no negative marks for incorrect answers.
To pass the examination successfully, candidates belonging to the general category need to attain a minimum of 50 per cent marks, whereas individuals from the backward class are required to secure 45.5 per cent marks.
The BSEB administers the Bihar Secondary Teachers Eligibility Test (STET) to candidates seeking positions as Higher Secondary (Class 11 to 12) and Secondary (Class 9 to 10) teachers. Candidates, who pass the Bihar STET 2023, are entitled to apply for teaching vacancies in the state’s schools. In Bihar, the STET has only been held three times in the last 13 years. It was first organised in 2011. After that, the test was scheduled for 2019, but due to a paper leak, it was cancelled and rescheduled for 2020. It was held for the third time in 2023.
