The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) announced its 68th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) result on January 15. Candidates can check their scorecard by visiting the official website at bpsc.bih.nic.in. This year, a total of 322 candidates have been declared qualified in the BPSC 68th CCE exam. Many candidates stood out in their performance. One of them is Mohammad Sher Afghan Khan from Telwari village, Gaya District of Bihar. He is a resident of the highly Naxal-affected Imamganj block of Gaya. Despite his struggles and staying in a Naxal-affected area, Mohammad Sher Afghan Khan cracked the BPSC 68th exam this year. He accomplished this feat in his second attempt. Now, he is all set to become an Assistant Disaster Management Officer (DMO). As the good news about his results spread like wildfire, there was a sense of joy throughout the area for his accomplishment. People are coming to his house to congratulate him and his family.
Mohammad Khan’s primary education was at a private school in Telwari village. He later attended Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Uttar Pradesh. Since primary school, he stated that he was interested in civil service. His father lived and worked in the village until his death in 2019.
According to reports, he could not pass the main test in the BPSC 67th exam. However, this time he performed to the best of his abilities and secured 87th rank. He passed the BPSC 68th exam after studying on his own. His next goal is to get into the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), but he plans to accept the Assistant Disaster Management Officer position for the time being.
Mohammad Khan found it difficult to make the journey from the remote Naxal area of Gaya to becoming an officer in the BPSC. Despite his father’s death, he remained courageous and pursued his studies. Because the family’s financial situation was poor, he also provided tuition for children. He has four sisters, one of whom is a teacher and takes care of the household.
Mohammad Khan’s achievement has become a watershed moment for the family. He is currently residing in Patna and intends to prepare for UPSC. Reports state that he was able to achieve this position because of his family’s support and prayers. He’s the first member of his family to do so. His ambition is to pass the UPSC, enter the civil service, and serve his country.
