Bikaner Welcomes New NIELIT Extension Centre To Foster Learning In Emerging Technologies
The centre received funding support of Rs. 7.05 crore from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt of India.

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Extension Centre in Bikaner, Rajasthan, was inaugurated on Wednesday, February 21, at Govt Dungar College, Bikaner. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State(I/C) for Law & Justice and Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, graced the occasion with his presence to inaugurate the extension centre, which has been established to support the Prime Minister’s vision of promoting digital skilling and technological advancement.

The centre will offer a diverse range of courses in emerging technologies such as AI & ML, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Social Mobile, IoT/Industry 4.0, RPA, 3D Printing, AR/VR and Metaverse, among others. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to learn NIELIT O Level and A-level courses. The centre will also provide numerous opportunities for summer training/internships and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs).

The NIELIT Extension Centre, Bikaner, has been inaugurated at two prominent locations in the city. The project received funding support of Rs. 7.05 crore from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. Trained teachers and scientists from across the nation will be teaching at the centre. Through this initiative, the Government of India aims to promote learning of emerging technologies. To ensure maximum participation, course fees have been kept affordable for students in the General category, while those belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe will be offered the opportunity free of cost.

Currently, NIELIT operates 50 centres across the nation with a wide network of 700+ Accredited Training Partners and 9000+ facilitation centres. With the inauguration of the NIELIT Extension Centre in Bikaner, the total number of NIELIT Centres and Extension Centres has reached 51. Additionally, NIELIT has its Center in the Kekri district of Rajasthan, offering B Tech (Computer Science) courses along with training in various skill-based programs focusing on emerging technologies in IT & Electronics.
