T20 World Cup: Sanjana Ganesan Asks Husband Jasprit Bumrah About His Dinner Plans After Thrilling Pakistan Win

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah was interviewed by his wife Sanjana Ganesan after his match-winning performance against Pakistan in a group-league match of the ongoing T20 World Cup match in New York on Sunday, June 9. Sanjana was present at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium to cover the game for ICC Digital. She approached Bumrah for a quick chat after India notched a six-run win in the thrilling contest. The husband-wife duo mostly discussed the Pakistan fixture as Bumrah shared how he and the other bowlers used the tricky surface in New York to defend a paltry 120-run target. Once the interview was over, Sanjana thanked Bumrah and asked, “What’s for dinner?” To this, the cricketer said, “See you in 30 minutes.”

With the wicket in New York assisting the bowlers, India managed to produce only 119 runs and were bundled out in 19 overs. The opening pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan gave Pakistan a positive start. Jasprit Bumrah gave India a breakthrough by dismissing Babar in the powerplay. Pakistan lost no more wickets till the 10th over. Axar Patel finally brought success, trapping Usman Khan for an LBW.

Following the wicket of Fakhar Zaman, India were desperate to get rid of Rizwan, who held the wicket at one end. That’s when Jasprit Bumrah was once again brought into the attack and turned out to be the saviour. He castled Rizwan with a stunning inswinger as Pakistan went four-wicket down at the score of 80.

The upcoming batters – including Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed – failed to survive long, falling victim to Hardik Pandya and Bumrah respectively. Naseem Shah showcased his batting talent in the final over but fell marginally short of getting across the line.
