Shane Watson fells Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya should shut out the outside noise and focus on his ability.

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been in the eye of a storm as he faces unprecedented backlash from MI fans after the team’s three back-tp-back losses to far in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Hardik returned to MI as skipper replacing five-time IPL-winning skipper Rohit Sharma as two-time World Cup-winning Australian all-rounder Shane Watson fells the Indian all-rounder should ignore the crowd.

“For Hardik, the one thing that he’s done so well throughout his career is been able to just shut out the noise, put his blinkers on, just put his headphones on and just focus on his ability to be able to execute his skill under immense pressure — and he’s done that,” Watson told Jio Cinema.

“He is such an incredibly skilled cricketer and he’s a great tactician and a great leader. So, he just needs to shut out the noise that’s obviously all around,” said Watson. “And he does need to put his headphones on and not allow any of that noise that’s around the grounds to be able to penetrate his bubble. That’s when he’s at his best, that bubble is bulletproof,” Watson added.

He was an internal part of the Mumbai Indians, the joint-most successful side in the history of the tournament, during his stint with the Maharashtra-based unit between 2015 and 2021.

After their three losses, MI occupy the bottom place in the league standings having not yet opened their account after the conclusion of three games. They will look for a turn in fortunes when they take on Delhi Capitals at home on the 7th of April.

However, MI are known to be perennial slow starters. In 2015, they lost the first four games before going on to win the title.
