'Born Pakistani, Product of ZIM Cricket': Sikandar Raza's Epic Response to Playing for PAK Question Sets Internet Ablaze
Sikandar Raza's Pakistani origin led to a fan asking him if he would play for Pakistan. The cricketer's reply has set social media on fire with fans trolling Pakistan again.

Zimbabwe cricket star Sikandar Raza’s response to a fan asking him to play for Pakistan is winning hearts on the internet. Easily one of the best talents Zimbabwe has ever produced, the all-rounder has delivered several match-winning performances for his nation in recent years. While Raza might represent Zimbabwean colours in cricket, the 38-year-old’s roots belong to Sialkot, Pakistan.

His Pakistani origin led to a fan asking him on X, “Have you ever thought about playing for Pakistan? You could help resolve the middle-order batting woes.” The question sparked a heartwarming response from the Zimbabwe all-rounder as he said, “I am a born Pakistani and a product of Zimbabwe Cricket. I will only and ever represent Zimbabwe.”

“Zimbabwe spent time and money on me and I am only trying to repay their faith and whatever I achieve will never even get close to repaying it. Zim is mine and am theirs fully,” Raza concluded in his post.

Fans have now flocked to the comments section, reacting to the patriotic post from the Zimbabwe batter.

In the recently concluded five-match T20I series, Sikandar Raza led the Zimbabwe side as the team’s skipper against India. He guided Zimbabwe to an early 1-0 start on home soil but the Men in Blue proved to be quite the challenging opponents. Raza’s Zimbabwe eventually lost the series 1-4.

Sikandar Raza made his cricket debut against Bangladesh in an ODI match in 2013. Since then, he has represented the Zimbabwean colours in 17 Tests, 142 ODIs and 91 T20Is. In these matches, the all-rounder notched 7378 runs and 188 wickets. He is next set to feature in a bilateral tour against Pakistan in November.
