Kevin Sinclair managed to pick up the wicket of Usman Khawaja and brought out the backflip celebration.

Kevin Sinclair celebrated in his trademark way after he got his maiden wicket in Test cricket during the second Test between Australia West Indies at The Gabba in Brisbane on Friday.

Sinclair managed to pick up the wicket of Usman Khawaja, caught by Alick Athanaze in the slip, and proceeded to bring out the backflip in celebration.

Meanwhile, Australia declared for 289-9 in their first innings late in the final session and that too just 22 runs behind the visitors.

Khawaja top scored for Australia with 75, while Alzarri Joseph took 4-84 for the West Indies.

Earlier, Steve Smith had failed again as an opener and Australia collapsed to be 24-4 at tea. Smith replaced the retired David Warner as an opener for Australia but scored just 12 runs in his first innings in that role in the first test at Adelaide won by Australia by10 wickets.

The last two balls before the break by Roach (3-13) brought more celebration for the West Indies.

Cameron Green (eight), who returned a negative COVID-19 test before play, drove straight to captain Kraigg Brathwaite at cover. Travis Head was well caught down the legside next ball by Joshua Da Silva.

On the first day of the match, a half-century on debut by offspinner Sinclair lifted West Indies to a competitive first-innings total. Sinclair (50) and veteran paceman Roach (eight) added 31 for the ninth wicket after the visitors resumed at 266-8 on Friday.

Australia lead 1-0 in the two-test series having prevailed in the Adelaide opener by 10 wickets.
