The vice-captain of the team belted the Bangladeshi bowler to the stands in three consecutive deliveries, over long off, long on and deep mi-wicket regions to send the Indian faithful into a tipsy.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya delighted the fans of the men in blue present at the Nassau County Stadium in New York on Saturday in the warm-up game against Bangladesh as he smashed Tanvir Islam for a hattrick of sixers.

The vice-captain of the team belted the Bangladeshi bowler to the stands in three consecutive deliveries, over long off, long on and deep mi-wicket regions to send the Indian faithful into a tipsy.

Team India won the toss in their only tune-up game ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup as Rohit Sharma opted to have a bat first. The skipper opened the innings alongside Sanju Samson, who was dismissed for a single run as India lost their first wicket for eleven runs.

Rishabh Pant and Rohit went on to stabilise the Indian innings before the captain was sent back to the hut for 23 runs. Pant, on the other hand, went on to notch up a half-century before walking back to the dugout retired hurt.

Shivam Dube added 14 runs before being scalped by Mahedi Hasan while Suryakumar Yadav added 31 off 18 deliveries before falling to Islam.

Pandya finished the innings unbeaten at 40 runs off just 22 deliveries to bolster India’s score to 182 runs for the loss of 5 wickets at the end of 20 overs, while Ravindra Jadeja held crease at the other end, also unbeaten at 4.

The total proved to be plenty enough as the men in blue went on to limit the Bangladesh batting order to a paltry score of 120 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the chase.

Pacer Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube scalped two wickets each to lead the bowling attack, while lead seamer Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Pandya and Axar Patel all chipped in with a scalp each.

India are pooled together with Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and the USA in Group A at the ICC showpiece, and the Rohit-led side will look to end their trophy drought of 11 years with silverware in the North American continent.
