Lokesh Kanagaraj broke his silence on Leo star Mansoor Ali Khan’s comment about Trisha Krishnan. The director, who helmed the Thalapathy Vijay film, took to X (previously known as Twitter) and extended his support to Trisha while slamming Mansoor for his comments. The filmmaker said that he was enraged by Mansoor’s comment and condemned this behaviour. The statement came hours after Mansoor said he was disappointed to about not being able to share the screen with Trisha and was hoping to have a ‘bedroom scene’ with her.

“Disheartened and enraged to hear the misogynistic comments made by Mr.Mansoor Ali Khan, given that we all worked in the same team. Respect for women, fellow artists and professionals should be a non-negotiable in any industry and I absolutely condemn this behaviour,” Lokesh said in his post on X.

How Did Trisha React to Mansoor Ali Khan’s Sexist Comment?

The director had reposted Trisha’s statement on the incident. On Saturday night, Trisha took to her social media accounts and called out Mansoor for his sexist remark about her. “A recent video has come to my notice where Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste. He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind,” she said.

Trisha was referring to the press conference that Mansoor held in which he spoke about Leo and not getting a chance to share the screen with her. On Saturday, a video went viral in which Mansoor said in Tamil, “When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought I would carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes and it’s not new to me. But these guys didn’t even show Trisha to me on the sets during the shoot in Kashmir.”

Singer Chinmayi Sripaada also reacted strongly to the incident. Taking to X, the South Indian singer wrote, “”The thing about men like Mansoor Ali Khan – they have always been talking like this. Never been condemned, with other men in power, money and influence laughing along; eeyy aamaa da macha correct ra maccha sorta thing,” she said, listing down the various incidents when men from the Tamil industry made derogatory remarks about actresses.

“Mansoor Ali Khan will continue to get work, that’s how it works. Just like how Radha Ravi continued to despite his verbal diarrhea on so many audio launches. Meanwhile, several social media users extended their support to Trisha and slammed Mansoor.
