New Delhi: Trinamool Congress (TMC) parliamentary chief, Sudip Bandyopadhyay on Thursday said that his party has made Dinesh Trivedi the Railway Minister, not the Congress. Hence, the Trinamool Congress will decide about what happens to the ministry.
"Dinesh Trivedi can say what he wants to. If Pranab Mukherjee presents the budget tomorrow, will we agree that he hasn't spoken to the Prime Minister and Sonia Gandhi. That is a common tactic," said Bandyopadhyay.
Bandyopadhyay said that the Trinamool Congress is of an opinion that Trivedi should no more be the Railway Minister.
"I will meet the PM today, we will communicate we oppose NCTC and other 10 chief ministers also oppose it," said Bandyopadhyay.
The minister also added that if Trivedi announces a rollback on the fare hike, he can he continue to be the Railway Minister.
"The situation is now gone out of hands," said Bandyopadhyay.
He further ruled out any threat to the UPA government.
"We are supporting the government totally," Trinamool Parliamentary Party leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay told reporters.
