Sensex falls over 400 points while the wide-based Nifty falls over 130 points.
Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex plunged by over 400 points at 1530 hours on Friday, dragged down by profit-booking as uncertainty persists in Egypt .
The Sensex, which had declined by 58.35 points to 18,390.78 at the onset of the session, was down by 447.39 points at 18,001.92 at 1530 hours.
Similarly, the broad-based National Stock Exchange Nifty was down 137.80 points at 5,388.39 at 1530 hours.
Auto, Power, Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Metal indices tanked over 1.5 per cent. The broader indices too participated in fall - the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices lost over 1 per cent.
Only Bajaj Auto was in green while the rest of 49 shares on Nifty 50 shares were on sellers' radar.
